Coro is an internship program for twelve student leaders to immerse themselves into the differing communities of KC. Each year, interns implement a community project to benefit a community in KC. Here is an example of how we analyze communities. http://prezi.com/dsn8adrfk_q7/coro-presentation/
The funding from the “Doing Good Challenge” will go directly to creating a sustainable program that is designed to help a Kansas City community not only immediately but also continue to grow throughout the years to build a stronger community.
In 2011: Interns partnered with Operation Breakthrough and rose $2,500’s to create a community garden and full ars festival benefitting 100 children.
Projects like this have been impacting KC since 1978. This year will go beyond what’s been done before.
We are currently in the project selection phase for this year and will have a project selected by June 12th. Regardless of “Doing GOOD” selection we would love to share what we are accomplishing to our selected community in the KC area.
